Underemployment…What it Means…How to Overcome it

Generally, you are underemployed if you are working only part time and you want to work full time or if you are employed full time at a low-paying job that requires fewer skills than you have.

 

Reasons for underemployment vary widely and can include groups of people who may have specific barriers to employment, such as people with disabilities and ex-offenders.

 

Since each person’s situation is different, it is best to contact a career manager at the Missouri Career Center to discuss your skills, preferences and options for oversoming underemployment.
